About the Diploma in Home Inspection

The Diploma in Home Inspection (DipHI) has been created to develop & qualify individuals to become licensed Home Inspectors and carry out Home Condition Reports (HCRs) and Energy Ratings for residential properties to be included in Home Information Packs (HIPs).  Further details on HIPs can be found on the official (external link) CLG HIP website.

Candidates are required to produce a portfolio of 10 residential inspections for assessment. A minimum of 3 must be in HCR format which includes an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

Candidates will be required to sit and pass a 100 minute, multiple choice, external examination.

The Awarding Body for the Built Environment (ABBE) is accredited as an awarding body to monitor the DipHI by the CLG and QCA.
