The Diploma in Home Inspection (DipHI) has been created to develop & qualify individuals to become licensed Home Inspectors and carry out Home Condition Reports (HCRs) and Energy Ratings for residential properties to be included in Home Information Packs (HIPs). Candidates are required to produce a portfolio of 10 residential inspections for assessment. A minimum of 3 must be in HCR format which includes an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).
Candidates will be required to sit and pass a 100 minute, multiple choice, external examination.
The Awarding Body for the Built Environment (ABBE) is accredited as an awarding body to monitor the DipHI by the CLG and QCA.

The full fee of the course is payable upfront. Alternatively you can pay 50% of the fee upfront and the rest is payable in 3 monthly instalments.
Candidates can expect to complete the qualification within 6 to 12 months for Experienced Practitioners, dependant upon the amount of time the candidate has to dedicate to the completion of their portfolio.
The route offered by ABE-Assess is not seen as a learning qualification but more as the provision of evidence of a person’s competence in the field of residential surveying and/or building inspection and so is designed for Experienced Practitioners.
An Experienced Practitioner is classed as having extensive relevant qualifications and having worked within the area of Residential Surveying for a minimum of 3 years.
