About the Fire Risk Assessor Qualification

The Fire Risk Assessor’s qualification has been created to train and develop individuals to undertake Fire Risk assessments on commercial properties as part of the change in legislative requirements brought in by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order (2005)
Candidates are required to produce a portfolio containing a minimum of 3 Fire risk reports for assessment.
Candidates will be required to sit and pass an external examination.

Payment Options:
Course fees must be paid prior to commencement of the qualification.  Installment options may be offered upon agreement with the centre

Time Frame

Candidates can expect to complete the qualification within 3 to 6 months for Experienced Practitioners, dependant upon the amount of time the candidate has to dedicate to the completion of their portfolio.

Candidate Eligibility

The route offered by ABE-Assess is not seen as a learning qualification but more as the provision of evidence of a person’s competence in the field of fire risk assessment so is designed for Experienced Practitioners.
For individuals who have less experience in the field relating to fire safety the Association offers a two week certificate in fire studies course to support the achievement of this qualification.
An Experienced Practitioner is classed as having extensive relevant qualifications and having worked within the area of fire risk assessment for 2 years.
