We recently emailed you about these events being organised by Asset Skills in partnership with Communities & Local Government to explain how a new law may affect your business if you are in property, building services or a related industry.
The countdown has now begun. Bookings are coming in thick and fast!
Remind me what is it about?
Between April and October 2008, Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), which rate houses on their green credentials, will be extended to the commercial sector.
This means any premises that are built, sold or let, must have an EPC.
It’s part of the European Performance Buildings Directive (EPBD), a major plank in the effort to cut carbon emissions.
Why bother?
The EPBD roll out is a big challenge for the property, building, commercial, retail and public sectors. It will bring a mix of business opportunities and new obligations.
The EVENTS and exhibitions will provide guidance from Government and industry experts who can explain the new regulations and what they mean for you.
The only cost is to your time. Can you afford to miss out?
What will I learn?
As well as information on the legislation itself, there will be advice on the new certificates: who can provide them and what to advise clients.
We shall run through the timetable, the requirements for Energy Assessors and arrangements for training and accreditation.
There will also be information on career and business opportunities and plenty of time for an open question and answer forum at the end.
